While religious organizations may not be interested in the actual monitoring or assessment of FSA activities or dynamics, these groups can often be useful in delivering messages about the need for FSA conservation. Religious organizations are particularly strong in some areas, and are well respected by the community.
The backing of religious organizations when trying to raise awareness or develop management strategies should not be underestimated. These organizations should be approached and informed about the vulnerability of FSAs, and the need for monitoring, management and enforcement.
