Map of countries and territories reached with RRN training

In July 2024, 10 marine managers, planners, and administrators from the Bahamas National Trust (BNT), participated in the Climate-Smart Management Planning Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park (ECLSP) Workshop in Nassau, Bahamas. This 3-day workshop focused on completing climate-smart updates to the ECLSP management plan. Participants reviewed and confirmed threats and climate impacts affecting key conservation features identified for ECLSP in the previous workshop. Facilitators worked with participants as they updated goals and objectives and other sections of the ECLSP management plan, and developed management strategies for inclusion in the updated management plan. This ECLSP workshop was the second in a series of workshops; this workshop focused on applying the climate-smart management planning process to update one management plan for a pilot site (ECLSP) in order to refine the process for use in the future.

Staff, partners, and hosts included: Cherie Wagner (TNC/RRN), Annick Cros (TNC/RRN), Joel Johnson (RRN Consultant), Jane Israel (RRN Consultant), Jewel Beneby (TNC Northern Caribbean Program), Lakeshia Anderson-Rolle (BNT), Ellsworth Weir (BNT), and Alyssa Bastian (BNT).

This training was organized by the Reef Resilience Network with support from The Nature Conservancy Northern Caribbean Program and funded through the BahamaReefs Programme, a long-term initiative led by The Nature Conservancy in partnership with the Global Fund for Coral Reefs.
