Restoration Capacity Building for Anguilla – Mexico, 2024

With support from the Reef Resilience Network, two managers and practitioners from Anguilla participated in a reef restoration capacity-building training in Quintana Roo, Mexico, in conjunction with the 2024 Reef Futures Symposium. During the 5-day Symposium, participants connected with coral restoration practitioners, researchers, and resource managers from around the world to learn how to apply the latest techniques, technologies, and science to their restoration work in Anguilla. They attended a showcase of restoration tools and technologies and participated in workshops about staghorn coral data coordination and using DeSci and Web3 tools.
Reef Resilience Network staff also co-hosted two workshops, chaired a session, gave a talk, and networked with new and existing partners to help identify new information that could be valuable to our managers. Special thanks to the staff, partners, and hosts: Caitlin Lustic and Michelle Graulty (TNC/RRN), and the Coral Restoration Consortium.
