Strategic Communication for Reef Conservation Training — Hawai‘i, 2025
In September 2025, the Network hosted a training for eight early career marine managers from the NOAA National Coral Management Fellowship Program and The Nature Conservancy Hawai‘i Marine Fellows Program.
The training introduced participants to strategic communication planning and helped them understand how to apply it for more effective management and conservation of marine resources. During the interactive half-day session, the group discussed communication aspects of their capstone projects for key management agencies in the US coral jurisdictions of American Samoa, Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands, Guam, Hawai‘i, and the US Virgin Islands, identifying ways to make their outreach efforts more strategic.
