During this webinar, Mayuran Sivapalan and Jerome Bowen, leaders of the Australian Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP) Modelling and Decision Support Sub-Program, shared several examples of how structured decision making has been used to progress several areas of strategic reef management. These areas include prioritizing reef indicators for monitoring and reporting; prioritizing investment in crown-of-thorns starfish innovation; and establishing the investment case for restoration and adaptation research and development. Mayuran and Jerome also discussed the approach being taken to advance and integrate environmental, ecological, cost, ecosystems services and socio-economic models with decision support processes to inform intervention research, development and deployment decisions in RRAP.
