Pacific US States and Territories Coral Restoration Workshop – Guam, 2023

In July-August, 2023, the Reef Resilience Network supported travel and attendance for give managers from American Samoa to attend the Pacific US States and Territories Coral Restoration Workshop at the University of Guam Marine Lab. The workshop included a learning exchange about restoration efforts in Guam, American Samoa, Saipan, and Hawaii, as well as classroom and hands-on training in coral restoration methods.

This training was organized by the Raymundo Coral Lab at the University of Guam with support from the Reef Resilience Network (RRN). Staff, partners, and hosts included: Dr. Laurie Raymundo (University of Guam Marine Lab), Maria Andersen (UoG/Raymundo Coral Lab), Caitlin Lustic (TNC/RRN), Henry Borrebach (TNC/RRN), and Farron Taijeron (TNC/Raymundo Coral Lab), along with many additional graduate students and support staff from the Raymundo Coral Lab.

RRN was funded to support the American Samoan managers through the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program.
