In the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), managers are working together to address global and local stressors and to assess the resilience of coral reefs. Identifying sites with high resilience potential can inform a range of management decisions to support and maintain the natural resilience of coral reefs. Join Steve McKagan, coral reef ecologist for the PIRO Habitat Conservation section of NOAA, to learn about his experience conducting a resilience assessment in the CNMI in 2012 and again in 2019 to ground truth the predictions and management recommendations from the earlier assessment. During the webinar, Steve shares lessons learned and recommendations for other managers considering conducting reef resilience assessments.
